The case
Inversiones Roccia, a company dedicated to the rental of heavy equipment in the public and private sectors, sought to consolidate an innovative business model through Makiap, the first heavy equipment marketplace in Colombia. This platform was intended to connect suppliers of heavy equipment with customers in the construction industry. In addition, they sought to automate inventory management and operations control through a centralized platform with an optimized and intuitive user experience.
The solution
EvolutecC implemented a solution based on agile methodologies, focusing on three main pillars:
Marketplace Makiap Clients: EvolutecC designed a guided user experience to search for heavy machinery and construction equipment in a simple and optimized way for the client. Thus, it created a web portal where customers can view all the suppliers' product offerings, make reservations and monitor their operations.
Providers/Supplier Portal: A separate portal was developed for suppliers where they can feed the platform with a catalog controlled and approved by Makiap. This guarantees that the products offered meet the needs of Makiap's target audience and maintain the quality of the offer.
Administration Panel: A dynamic and completely parameterizable tool was created for the Roccia Investments team. From this administration panel, they can make decisions, incorporate new types of products and manage different profiles without depending on the technical team. This streamlines the decision-making process and enables continuous improvement of the system.
Thanks to the collaboration with EvolutecC, our client has managed to consolidate Makiap as a rental platform for heavy equipment and innovative construction materials for this sector in Colombia. This will allow suppliers and customers to be efficiently connected in the same place, simplifying processes and providing an optimal experience for all users involved. Some of the results obtained are presented below:
- Tailored infrastructure on AWS: EvolutecC implemented a scalable infrastructure on AWS, leveraging free tier services in development, calculating costs to be gradual as user demand increased. In addition, a robust security system was implemented to keep the platform protected against possible cyber attacks.
- SaaS platform for providers: Makiap providers now have the opportunity to manage their processes through a SaaS platform, avoiding implementing their own software and facilitating interaction with the platform.
- Administrative autonomy: Thanks to the administration panel provided by EvolutecC, Inversiones Roccia has full control over the Marketplace. They can manage content, monitor transactions, make adjustments and updates in real time, without depending on a specialized technical team, which speeds up decision making and implementation of changes.
- Compelling UX/UI experience: The Makiap platform has an attractive user experience in line with the latest trends, improving user satisfaction and increasing retention on the platform.
